Proudly British, the English watch manufacturer, Accurist, offers a tradition and distinctive collection of essential wrist wear for both men and women.
Founded in 1946 by Asher and Rebecca Loftus, Accurist, many many watch brands at that time, were made entirely from Swiss components and guaranteed high quality. Accurist established a brilliant reputation for great value for money with their mens and ladies watches both made from Swiss parts coupled with competitive pricing. Fast forward to 1965 and Accurist broke the mould of the watch being seen as a 'once in a lifetime' purchase. Richard Loftus created a range of Accurist New England mens and ladies watches which were seen on the wrists of many, including Princess Anne, Twiggy and The Beetles. In 1978, Accurists digital quartz watch was chosen as the official watch for the pilots of the Concorde plane. Accurist achieved a huge marketing breakthrough in 1986, by becoming the Nations timekeeper. Accurist was appointed the first ever official sponsor of British Telecoms Speaking Clock and has since had over 3 billion calls! In 1993 Accurist had reached an all time high, it became the UK's largest brand in value terms...next step...the international market. The same year also saw Accurist seize the opportunity to become the first and only watch company to be formally associated with the observatory and provide them with a new Atomic Clock, officially recording time for the world.
Today, Accurist is owned by Marcus Margulies and is under a dynamic management team, committed to the company's original principles, setting a high standard and creating a brand name of lasting value and promise of an exciting future to match their past.
